Top Metric #6: Lost Members

In the previous article, we covered staying on top of new memberships, but of course there will be members who leave your gym and monitoring that metric is no less important. 

Members are the lifeblood of your gym so we made it a priority to provide you multiple ways to stay on top of expiring memberships and even take note when members are absent.

Right in the middle of the main Arbox dashboard is this red box alerting you about memberships that are about to expire at the end of the current month. You can reach out to these members with reminder notifications and messages about renewing their memberships or provide promotions and discounts to entice them to renew. 

Additionally, you have the count of how many members haven’t visited your gym in the past week. Clicking on this number opens a report about absentee members and with just two clicks, you can send them push notifications or SMS messages to engage them and bring them back to the gym. 

If you want to see more in-depth information about expiring memberships and the like, click on the “Reports” section in the platform sidebar. You’ll find a full section on “Inactive Members” where you can view several different reports: 

View memberships that have expired or were canceled as well as punch cards that have expired. You can also view inactive members who can easily be re-engaged via SMS messages in just a few clicks. 

To see simple numbers at a glance about lost members, visit the “Insights” section in the platform sidebar to view this mini dashboard:

In just a few moments you can easily understand how many members you’ve lost as well as how many memberships have been canceled or ended. 

The goal is to add new members to your gym, but keeping your current ones and understanding when and how you’re losing members is also essential to the future of your business.
