Without a doubt, one of the most important metrics to concentrate on when running a business is your monthly revenue. It’s obvious that your company has to make money every month or it won’t survive, but how many business owners are actually tracking their average revenue every month per client?

Getting a handle on the average revenue that your gym is receiving from each client helps you get an overall perspective on the kind of revenue increase you can expect by bringing in new clients each month.

Let’s dive deeper into this metric. We can see in this example that the gym’s ARM is just about $84. That means on average, the gym receives a revenue of $84 per member per month. Compare that to the industry average in the US where people spend $58 per month, this sample gym is doing pretty well for itself.

While the ARM for our sample gym might be higher than the industry average, we can also see that the total has decreased by nearly 30% since the previous month. Whether the ARM in your gym has dropped since last month, or you’re looking to increase it (which is always a good idea), there are a number of ways to boost the total using the Arbox platform.

Each member that factors into the equation of your gym’s ARM has some sort of membership, but is there a way to upgrade them to a higher-tier membership? Find out what percentage of your members currently have punch cards and try to get them to sign up for a full-on yearly membership. You can handle all membership renewals and upgrades right from within the Arbox system.

For those members who already have yearly memberships, you can find ways to upsell them to increase their monthly revenue. Personal training sessions, supplements, merchandise and the like are all different ways to increase the individual revenue accrued by each member at your gym.

In fact, members can purchase whatever items you’re selling at your gym straight from the Arbox mobile member app. If you don’t have any products listed there, you’re missing a major opportunity to bring in more revenue.
